GET TO KNOW
Husband. Father. Preacher. Large Loss Consultant.
As most of you know I am the newest addition to the GC3 team having come here at the beginning of February 2020. I come to GC3 from the position of a claims adjuster having worked in commercial liability, commercial property, residential property, CAT Response, and subrogation. I have worked as both an independent and a carrier adjuster.
Prior to becoming an adjuster I worked for eight years in the cleaning/mitigation industry and have many years of experience in the construction field starting in high school and working my way through college. Both my grandfather and my father were carpenters.
Although I worked my way through college and seminary in the construction field I did not study for this industry. My graduate degrees are in counseling and theology and I spent over 30 years in full-time ministry where I was able to work in marriage counselling, education and pastoring. I traveled to 42 states and 9 foreign countries during my time as president of CCBI Bible College.
I have been married a little over 9 years and my wife and I have three children and five grandchildren. My wife, Gretchen, is a retired Cosmetologist having spent 25 years working in that industry. She concluded her career as an instructor at the Le Mars Beauty College in Le Mars, IA in 2014.
Although I have not been with GC3 for long I already feel as though I am part of the team. I have always preferred working for small companies as they seem to have a “family” feel. My first impression after coming to work here is one of “strength through knowledge.” I remember setting in my first in-office meeting thinking “I am the dumbest person in the room.” I am amazed at the wealth of experience and knowledge this little family business has to offer the insurance industry. It should be our mission to make sure they know just how much this company can benefit them.
Mark Twain once said, “There are basically two types of people. People who accomplish things, and people who claim to have accomplished things. The first group is less crowded.” GC3 offers the insurance industry something that very few others are able. We give them information birthed from our wealth of experience and knowledge and then back it up with our ability to perform any job, large or small. GC3 is definitely in the “group that is less crowded.”
